Golden Beam Pockets uses a patented (U.S. Patent US12012744B2) cast-in-place and adjustable technology to securely anchor steel beams into concrete walls.
The innovative system saves time, costs less, and allows for a more efficient, more sustainable building process.
A smarter design, safer, and more reliable alternative to outdated methods
Golden Beam Pockets provide quicker installation, easier handling with no welding or shims, and greater strength than conventional embed plates. You can reduce crane time by up to 80%, install beams in less than ten minutes, and dispense with shims or on-site welding. Anchor bolts are included with every unit, it is adjustable from W6 to W27 beams, and it minimizes jobsite waste for a greener build. Proudly manufactured in the USA.

their applications, and installation.
Golden Beam Pockets are safer because they eliminate on-site welding and reduce the need for shimming—two major sources of jobsite risk. The adjustable design allows beams to be set quickly and accurately, minimizing time spent working at height and under load. The system clamps securely to formwork, uses included anchor bolts, and avoids field fabrication entirely. Less crane time, fewer adjustments, and no hot work mean fewer opportunities for injury—making the jobsite cleaner, faster, and significantly safer.
Golden Beam Pockets are faster because they allow beams to be set in under 10 minutes—without welding, shimming, or rework. The adjustable bearing plate accommodates imperfections in beam placement, eliminating delays caused by misaligned anchor bolts or deflected formwork. With no need for certified weld inspections or time-consuming field fixes, and anchor bolts included out of the box, crews can install the beam pocket, lift the beam, and move on—cutting crane time by up to 80% and streamlining the entire process.
Golden Beam Pockets can save your project thousands of dollars by reducing crane time, labor costs, and inspection fees. Customers typically save up to 80% on crane time alone, thanks to the quick, under-10-minute beam setting process. There's no need for certified on-site weld inspections (which can cost $50–$100 each), and the adjustable design minimizes costly rework from misaligned anchors or shifted formwork. Fewer materials, fewer trades, and faster installs all add up to significant cost savings across your job site.
The metal pocket remains embedded in the concrete. After the pour, the top cap and reinforcement shelf are removed, while the rest of the pocket stays in place.
They extend through the grout and penetrate approximately 12 inches into the concrete.
Yes, not only have they been reviewed; Peter, one of the inventors, is a licensed structural engineer with over 40 years of experience. Refer to the Tech Spec page for stamped drawings with the axial and vertical loads.
Yes. The clamp down, as indicated in the instruction book, is just finger-tightened to allow for expansion movement. No pull-out forces are calculated through the beam pocket. The floor structure above the beam pocket should be designed to handle those loads. Golden Beam Pockets have been designed to handle vertical gravitational loads. In comparison, embed plates rely on the shear strength and pull-out resistance of the anchor studs.
The bearing plate and clamp hold-downs allow for imperfections in beam placement and can be adjusted vertically, laterally, and axially. Skilled labor has become less available, and imperfections in formwork or shifting during pours are common. Concrete pressure from a pump (300–400 psf minimum) can easily deflect forms by 1/4–1/2 inch, making fixed anchor positions unreliable.
ICBO codes now require certified inspections for on-site welds—at a cost of $50–$100 each. Our Beam Pockets do NOT require welding.
The beam pocket distributes its load through the bearing plate, then into the grout, the steel angle, and finally the concrete—spreading force over a wider area. Void pockets transfer load from the bottom flange through grout into the concrete, with much smaller surface contact. This limits load capacity.
The actual installation time is less than 5 minutes—even including lifting a 32 lb unit up a 12-foot ladder, clamping it to the form, driving six screws, and inspecting placement. We list the time as 15 minutes for realism, but actual install time can be significantly faster.
